James Bernier, Jr.

James Bernier, Jr., was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and returned after completing law school. He clerked for the Honorable Audrey L. Thomas at the then Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands and later joined Duensing, Casner, Dollison & Fitzsimmons. There he began his practice in insurance defense, commercial litigation, and litigation. In 2010, he became partner with the firm.

• Education: American University Washington College of Law (J.D., 2004); University of the Virgin Islands (B.A., summa cum laude, Social Science, 2001).

• Experience: While attending the Washington College of Law, Mr. Bernier was a member of the American University International Law Review, 2003-2004 and the Hispanic Law Students Association, 2002-2004. He is also a member of Phi Alpha Delta.
