Creditor Representations in Bankruptcies

In the current economic climate bankruptcy filings are an all too common occurrence. Our attorneys are experienced in the strategies and tactics needed to assist creditors facing these filings. We are well versed in the protection of creditors' interests regardless of the size of the bankrupt estate or the chapter. We represent creditors with claims ranging from hundreds of millions of dollars in complex Chapter 11 cases to claims in Chapter 13 cases.

The U.S. Virgin Islands apply federal bankruptcy law, but our courts have some unique local procedures which call for local counsel involvement regardless of the expertise that may be available to clients already represented by large stateside law firms. Our bankruptcy attorneys and staff are experienced in counseling and coordination with such firms in the prosecution of complicated adversary proceedings. To the extent that matters can be more expeditiously resolved through negotiation, we maintain cordial relations with local debtors' counsel and seek to minimize transactional costs at every possible opportunity.
